Colour-and-weave

Shadow weave

Dark and light alternating end for end over a twill; the two colours trade which is on top and a soft ghost of the diagonal appears in low relief.

Shadow weave is a colour effect drawn in indigo warp over natural weft - woven in a single colour the same threads would read as a quiet 2/2 twill, and the whole figure comes from the order of dark and light.

The complete draft of Shadow weave, shaft 1 along the top row: threading across the top, tie-up top-right, treadling down the right and the computed drawdown at the lower left, where a filled square marks a warp end lying over the weft - edit it live in the generator
